Jennifer received her Bachelor’s degrees in Social Work and Criminal Justice from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and Master’s degree in Social Work with a Certificate in Substance Abuse Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has over 13 years of experience providing psychotherapy, counseling, and case management to a variety of populations. Her experiences and clinical interests are centered around addiction treatment, harm reduction, severe mental health conditions, psychosis, LGBTQ+ issues, gender diversity, integrated care, and clinical supervision.

Subject Matter Expert: Kelley S. Bitter, RN, PMHNP

Kelley Bitter is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She started her career 20 years ago as a Registered Nurse working in patient at a mental health hospital. Kelley continued her education at the University of Akron and received an advanced degree and Certification as a Nurse Practitioner. She has been working as a nurse practitioner for the last 18 years. Her experience includes working in private practice, community mental health, emergency room, in-patient, and public health. For the last 6 years, Kelley has been working in the telehealth environment helping people with mental health issues in who otherwise could not get care. She believes it is very important for everyone to have access to mental health care.

Kelley has also taught nursing in both undergraduate and graduate programs for 15 years.
