Adolescent Alcohol Use

Adolescent alcohol use is a serious public health problem. Young people are influenced to use alcohol by many factors that surround them, such as their peers, family, and the media. There are a myriad of negative consequences that result from underage drinking. Prevention and early intervention are keys to reducing the prevalence of teen drinking, and healthcare professionals can play a critical role. This course outlines the contributing factors to adolescent alcohol use and interventions nurses and other clinicians can make.

The goal of this course is to provide nurses and social workers in acute care facilities with an overview of adolescent alcohol use.
