This course is intended for DD or Elder Care Case Managers. The Fatal Five are five commonly identified causes of preventable death in persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and in persons who are aging. When recognized early and treated promptly, one can save lives and prevent negative changes in the person's health.
These five conditions are:
* Aspiration
* Bowel Obstruction
* Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease
* Seizures
* Infection/Sepsis
