Person-Centered Thinking is not just a set of values, skills, and tools used to help people re-claim or maintain a voice in their own lives, it is a philosophy. It seeks to help supporters keep the person at the center of all supports given while promoting positive control in the life of the person. Person-Centered Thinking empowers anyone to live the life they choose, in the community they choose, at the level of involvement they choose.
While there are many skills that can make up person-centered approaches, this course focuses on the following:
