Support Coordinators provide a service coordination system for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Based upon each person’s level of care, assessed needs, and personal preferences, Support Coordinators provide appropriate coordination of waiver services to the people of Alabama.
The purpose of Support Coordinator Training is for learners to utilize principles, processes, and methodologies for support coordination within Home and Community-Based Services’ (HCBS) federal and state requirements. This is mandatory training for Support Coordinators working in ADMH certified ID/DD programs and is conducted in an online, self-paced eLearning format. A certificate and/or verification of social worker contact hours can be printed after the successful completion of course materials.

The Alabama Department of Mental Health is an approved provider of continuing education by the (Alabama Board of Social Work Examiners - 0125, Expiration 1/31/2026). This program is approved for 4 contact hours for social workers.
