Empathy and Compassion in Service Delivery
Empathy and compassion are important foundations for building positive relationships with the people you support. This course will provide an overview of what empathy and compassion are and why they matter in intellectual and developmental disabilities, or IDD, services. You will learn effective strategies for demonstrating empathy and compassion, while also addressing the challenges of compassion fatigue and burnout. In addition, the course will highlight the significance of self-compassion and self-care in maintaining your ability to show empathy and compassion.
