***Course Update/New Format***
Nurse Delegation Program is currently using a remote, instructor-led format with Zoom technology. In order to successfully participate, each learner needs a computer/device allowing audio and video interaction. Participants must be present (Visible) for the entire course to receive credit for attending.
Once you have registered, you may click 'MY COURSES'/'ENTER COURSE' to view an agenda and other course information. Sign-in information for Zoom video conference will be sent to participants via email 2 to 3 days prior to the class start date.

ALL ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS MUST REGISTER ON THE RELIAS WEBSITE (http://admh.academy.relaislearning.com )
This lecture and group discussion program, utilizing a standard PowerPoint presentation is designed for a MAS Nurses (RN/LPNs) with a current MAS Certificate.
Every two (2) years, all currently certified MAS Nurses are required to attend an “UPDATE” prior to the expiration date noted on their current MAS Certificate of Approval (A Certificate of Attendance from Relias does not meet this requirement).
MAS Nurses who have allowed their MAS Certificate of ADMH approval to be delinquent ninety days past the expiration date, noted on their current certificate, must retake the initial training (Becoming an Approved Delegating Nurse), including the test.
ALL NURSES MUST SUBMIT PREREQUISITES WITHIN 5 WORKING DAYS OF COMPLETING CLASS IN ORDER TO RECEIVE A CERTIFICATE
- Zoom classes are limited to 20 participants unless otherwise stated.
- You must attend using a device with a audio and video.
- You will be sent a zoom invite to class 72 hours prior to class.
- You will not receive a certificate without providing instructor proof of prerequisites.
Prerequisites:
- Unencumbered AL Nursing License (RN/LPN)
- Must provide a copy of your current MAS Certificate
Must bring evidence of completion of the following training located on the ABN website abn.alabama.gov
- Mandatory Class Part 1 – Overview of the Nurse Practice Act, Board Functions, & Nursing Regulations
- Standardized Procedures: Practice Beyond Basic Nursing Education
- Delegation & Assignment: Definitions & the Application of ABN Rules
- Scope of Practice for RNs and LPNs
- Read Standards of Nursing Practice
- Read current MAS Nurse Manual
- Review standard NDP Forms found on the ADMH/NDP website (documents library)
- Review Division al operational guidelines (Health and Safety)
- Review Divisional Incident Prevention and Management System Policies and Procedures

- You must register as yourself, for yourself.
- Each individual attending must have their own user account in this system. The user account is how course information is sent, how attendance is verified, and where the participant will access a certificate of completion.
- Attempting to register multiple participants under one account will prohibit the individual from receiving a certificate.
The Alabama Department of Mental Health is an approved provider of continuing education by the Alabama Board of Nursing (ABNP0150, exp. 7/29/2025). This program is approved for 3.9 contact hours for nurses. Eligible participants must attend the full program and complete an evaluation to receive contact hours.
