Subject Matter Expert: Danielle Carey, MS, CCC-SLP
Danielle Carey MS, CCC-SLP, COM®, has been a practicing speech-language pathologist with over 10 years of experience. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders from East Carolina University and her Master of Science degree in speech-language pathology from Old Dominion University. During her career, Danielle worked in subacute rehabilitation centers, hospitals, and private practices. Currently, she is the clinical manager and practicing clinician of Emerge Pediatric Therapy. Since joining the company, Danielle launched the myofunctional program which has grown from one provider to seven trained clinicians over the last three years. While building the myofunctional program, Danielle was invited to complete presentations and professional training on tongue tie and myofunctional disorders to increase awareness among local dental offices, orthodontists, and therapists (SLPs, OTs, PTs). Danielle is a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and a Board-Certified Orofacial Myologist™, granted by the International Association of Orofacial Myology. She has achieved the following specialty training: TOTS: Tethered Oral Tissues™ Specialty Training, Basic DIRFloortime® certification, VitalStim® certification, and SOS® Approach to Feeding.

Susan Almon-Matangos, MS, CCC-SLP, is a certified and licensed speech-language pathologist with over 30 years of experience. She obtained her bachelor's degree in psychology from Jacksonville State University and her Master of Science degree in speech-language pathology from The University of Alabama. She worked with clients of all ages and a variety of diagnostic conditions in school, hospital, skilled nursing facility, outpatient clinic, and home health settings. In her previous role as a national clinical director for Aegis Therapies, she created training programs for physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology related to the clinical rehabilitation needs of older adults in post-acute care. She currently draws upon her expertise in her role at Relias as Lead Subject Matter Expert Writer for Speech-Language Pathology. She is a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the Pennsylvania Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
