SLP Interventions for Post-Acute Stroke Care

The course teaches speech-language pathologists (SLPs) evidence-based treatment interventions for patients in post-acute care settings who have experienced stroke. You will learn recent evidence for traditional and new interventions to address aphasia, motor speech disorders, dysphagia, and cognitive-communication deficits. Treatment approaches and cueing strategies will be addressed. Writing patient-centered goals and documenting to justify the medical necessity for stroke intervention are also reviewed. This course provides speech-language pathologists in post-acute care with best practices to treat patients who have had a stroke.
