SLP and TBI: Treating Communication and Cognition Impairments in Older Adults

Older adults commonly present with cognition and communication impairments due to either a recent traumatic brain injury (TBI) or the cognitive changes of aging with a previous TBI. This course uses a series of case studies to describe the common clinical presentations of each type of older adult with TBI, appropriate goals, expected progression, and evidence-based interventions to integrate into a plan of care. Speech-language pathologists will learn best practices for the management of this population and considerations for comorbidities that can influence recovery.
