Many people living with serious mental illness, or SMI, encounter barriers to employment. Sometimes, symptoms of their mental health conditions can result in job loss. However, many people with SMI can succeed and keep their jobs with support from the Individual Placement and Supports, or IPS, form of supported employment.
With these supports, many people thrive in the workplace and have improved outcomes in several areas of their lives. This course will describe ways to support job seekers with SMI and other disabilities while they are working. These supports can help people with SMI maintain long-term, competitive employment.
