Meredith earned a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from The University of Akron and a Master of Science in Human Nutrition from Eastern Michigan University. After completing her internship with The Detroit Medical Center, she began working in various academic medical centers in Ohio and North Carolina. She completed a Certificate of Training in Weight Management and Advanced Training in Metabolic Adaptations. She also holds the Google Project Management Professional Certification. During her tenure working in direct patient care, she was a certified specialist in oncology nutrition and founded an oncology teaching garden at the SECU Family House for patients and their families undergoing cancer treatment. Meredith has experience in providing nutrition therapy in both acute and ambulatory settings in areas of oncology, cardio-thoracic transplant, renal, and general medicine.
Subject Matter Expert: Kathryn Falbo-Woodson, MSW, LCSW
Kathryn Falbo-Woodson received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology from West Virginia University and a Master of Social Work (MSW) from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina and a Certified Clinical Social Work Supervisor. Kathryn served on the National Association of Social Work-NC Chapter Board of Directors and currently participates as a member. Kathryn served as a member and president of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention-NC Chapter Board of Directors. She owns her private practice, Forsythia Counseling, PLLC, in Charlotte, North Carolina, and is the Behavioral Health Subject Matter Expert for Relias. Before joining Relias, Kathryn worked as a psychotherapist in integrated care outpatient clinics and community-based mental healthcare settings. She has trained healthcare professionals, law enforcement, clergy, and lay people in Motivational Interviewing, Mental Health First Aid, QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Suicide Prevention, and other crisis-related interventions.
