Joni Klein began working for ND DOCR in 2005 developing, managing suicide prevention services at the ND Youth Correctional Center. Joni continues to provide full oversight of suicide detection, prevention and intervention programming, policy, procedures, and training of all staff. In 2017, she promoted to Director of Resident Care and Clinical Services supervising daily operations, building management, staff development and delivery of clinical services. In March 2021, Joni promoted to Director of Clinical Services for North Dakota Division of Juvenile Services and Heart River Correctional Center. She is standing up Brief Strategic Family Therapy services in North Dakota and oversees the provision of mental health services for juveniles and adult, female inmates. She graduated from the University of North Dakota and holds a Master of Science in Social Work.
